Four of typical form, with scrolling acanthus handles and Bacchic frieze cast in relief, one with serpent handles and foliate border and three with figure heads to the bodies, all on turned tapering socles
The largest: 24 in. (69 cm.) high; 26 in. (66 cm.) wide; 15 in. (38 cm.) deep
Provenance
Almost certainly acquired by Ivor Churchill Guest (1873-1939), 1st Viscount Wimborne, for Ashby St Ledgers Manor, Northamptonshire, where photographed on the East terrace before 1951,
thence by descent.
