拍品专文

Like many employers in the 19th Century, Lady Charlotte Guest was keen to improve the educational possibilities, living conditions, and opportunities for leisure amongst her tenants. Cricket was a game which enabled the different social classes to mix with relative ease. Canford Manor, newly refurbished by Sir Charles Barry, who imposed his designs on earlier work by Edward Blore, provides a notable backdrop.
