Sale Overview

This season’s London Collections sale is distinguished by three important British noble collections presenting a number of significant works of art. The group of Fabergé formerly in the Wernher Collection at Luton Hoo is arguably one of the most significant and exuberant collections to appear on the market in recent decades while the Viscount Wimborne’s property from the famed residences of the family at Canford Manor in Dorset, Wimborne House in London and Ashby St Ledgers Manor in Northamptonshire reflects the breadth and quality of aristocratic collecting from the early 19th century into the first half of the 20th century. The core collections of the sale are completed by a group of silver from the Earl of Suffolk and Berkshire reflecting the best in English silver from the early 18th century onwards.

The sale includes important European, English and 19th-century furniture and objects, Old Master paintings and drawings, porcelain, silver, gold boxes, Fabergé and works of art dating from the 16th to the 20th century, all of which highlight the enduring craftsmanship and beauty of exceptional works of art.
