Blaise Maucuy, maître in 1758.

Blaise Maucuy (1729-1798) was established in the district of Notre Dame de Bonne Nouvelle, like many of his fellow menuisiers.
The present fauteuil has been designed to be dismantled: the seat and the two upholstered armrests can be removed and, inspired by bed designs, the frame can be disassembled into four flat parts, suggesting that this chair was either designed for easier transport or to save space when stored away, as a chair in reserve.
