In good overall condition.
There are the inevitable minor nicks, marks and scratches consistent with age and use.
The breche d'alep marble top with two well restored breaks, with consequential metal struts to the underside and areas of infill. Some minor surface sccratches and chips to the edges.
The japanning varnished and with typical cracquelure overall. There are some minor areas of wear to the gilded sections and localised flaked losses, such as to the left figure of the bottom drawer.
Some shrinkage and separation to joins with consequential minor losses to the decoration. The interior of the carcass with wooden strips applied to the sides to stabilise shrinkage. The drawer dustboards and back with spliced repairs to consolidate separation.
As stated in the catalogue, the commode is remounted. The ormolu mounts displaying some typical signs of tarnish.
With some very minor traces of old woodworm, now apaprently inactive.
Highly decorative, structurally stable and ready to place.
