Urn shaped, with lobed lower body, on a circular foot with a border of stiff leaves and berries, raised on a square plinth on four bun feet, with two leaf-capped angled handles, the spout with pierced anthemion-form knob, the pierced top with lobed cover and bud finial, with composite insulators, marked on side of base with 'FABERGÉ' in Cyrillic beneath the Imperial warrant, further marked on side of base and flange of both covers with Vilnius assay marks and French import marks, retailed by Fabergé, scratched inventory number 5996

This samovar is typical of the type of silver objects in neoclassical style, retailed by Fabergé. Some of them were of foreign manufacture. Other examples of objects produced in Riga and retailed by Fabergé are known.
