The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Overall with the expected nicks, chips and losses to the lacquer; with further chips, particularly to the edges of each panel; scattered losses to the inlaid decoration, including to areas integral to the scene; with light staining and wear to the painted decoration; some panels with vertical cracks and scattered areas of restoration; scattered areas of buckling and lifting to the lacquer, some touched up and others with associated losses; the panels in two sets of six and hinged together with later metal hinges; stable and ready to be placed.
