The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There is an overall network of craquelure. Scattered areas of restoration to the paper and, consequently, the pigments; to the right panel near the right edge and along the bottom edge, and to an area immediately the knot in the trunk; to the left panel spanning the top edge, down about a third of the left edge, to the center of the panel and a small portion on the left edge; and to each along the crease. Some scattered touchups to the pigments. A few patch repairs to tears. The paper laid down within a silk border, a few tears to the silk. The wood frame with metal fitments and the reverse later paper.
