The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The canvas is not lined. The pigment layer is stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. There is minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges and scattered pinpoints of pigment losses. There is an overall unobtrusive network of fine lines of craquelure. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few scattered minor touch-ups, primarily to the areas of grass. The work can be hung in its present state and is offered with a simple giltwood frame.
