拍品專文

Painted by Richter in 1879, this portrait of Queen Louise of Prussia (1776-1810), is in the collection of the Wallraf-Richartz Museum in Cologne, Germany. The beloved Queen was known as "the soul of national virtue", throwing herself at Napoleon's feet in an attempt to keep more of Prussia intact at the Peace of Tilsit (1807).
