Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Each example executed on a beveled wood panel of horizontal grain. The longer example composed of two panels of equal size. Each with its pigment layer stable and under a clear varnish that has slightly yellowed with age. Each with minor frame abrasion to the extreme edges. The long example overall with a network of craquelure. Inspection under ultraviolet light reveals a few lines of touch-up to address craquelure. The works can be hung in their present state and are offered with giltwood frames. Please note that Christie's does not guarantee the condition of frames.
