Overall in sound condition. Minor variations to the turnings of the front legs, probably consistent with different chair makers working on a large set. Also with some minor variations to the height of the seat of the side chairs cause by some chairs having more wear to the feet. With typical scattered light nicks, marks and faint scratches. With rubbing, some lifting, flaking and small losses to the painted decoration, as to be expected. Many with signs of old, now inactive woodworm damage. With some scattered age and construction cracks, and some sepearation at joins. With several old glue repairs and some restabilizations, many due to old woodworm damage.
Chair L - With an old glue repair to front right leg. Chair J - With seperation at the two front legs, but still secure. Chair I - With small losses due to old woodworm damage and associated glue repairs. With yellow chalk 7660; replaced section to left seat rail. Chair G - With a split to back rail where the caning adheres, and a restored break to the back left leg, secure. Chair H - With an incised M to back rail, with considerable old woodworm damage and associated small losses, with restabilization. With yellow chalk 7660. Chair F - With glued repairs to the left legs, not visible when placed and secure. Chair E - With a split to the left seat rail, and some sepration to the left side of the back splat, secure; back seat rail reinforced Chair C - With an incised M to the back rail. Chair D - With cracks to underside of the front legs, not visible when placed and secure. Chair B - With a repaired break to the left arm terminal.
