The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

Pile is generally good, dense, near original 1/4 in. overall. Reduced in length with a cut running along the top end border. Sides with original two-cord selvedges. Right side outer guard border with some moth damage with pile low to minor spot foundation. Losses and fraying to lower left end corner; recommend securing. Minor repair (rewoven area) along mid-right border, 9 in. x 7 in., now slightly with discoloration, but well-woven. Ends mostly with original flatwoven finish and remnants of knotted fringes. Some losses and fraying to ends in other areas; recommend securing. Greyish surface stain in upper left field about 16 inches diameter which may or may not improve with professional attention. Lustrous wool, supple handle.
