拍品专文

Auguste Riffaterre is recorded at the École national, Limoges in the late 1880's. See Bernard Bumpus, Pâte-sur-Pâte, The Art of Ceramic Relief Decoration, 1849-1992, p. 88-89 and fig. 55 for another example of his work. Compare Christie's, New York, 20-21 April 2005, lot 144 for a nearly identical example to the present plaque with birds. Works by Riffaterre can also be found in the Adrien Dubouché National Museum, Limoges.
