As stated in the catalogue and visible on the illustration, there are some accidents, losses and restorations.
There are the inevitable dents, marks, scratches, shrinkage cracks and rubbing consistent with age and use.
The left back foot is broken.
The door and the drawers are locked except the central one.
Boulle marquetry : There are some cracks to the tortoiseshell as expected.
There are some traces of white cleaning product throughout.
There are some restorations to the marquetry throughout.
The brass inlaid is lifted, especially to the left foot and to the uprights.
There are some rubbings to the brass throughout.
Some elements of the marquetry are missing, especially to the feet.
There are some liftings, especially to the right side.
Ormolu mounts: There are some dents, rubbing and important signs of tarnishing.
The locks are later, from 20th century.
Ebonized wood: there are some losses to the painting and some dents, especially to the feet.
There are some traces of old woodworms, now apparently inactive.
