The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The pile has uneven areas of wear which range from a few millimeters above, to just at the level of the knot collar. This is due to wear but also a natural corrosion that has occurred in localised spots in the red field. Where the pile is at it lowest there is some associated repiling. This is mostly concentrated in the upper right corner of the field but there are scattered patches elsewhere. Overall this amounts to approximately 15% overall. The repiling, remains relatively high in pile and is well colour matched to the original making it less visible on the reverse than on the face of the carpet.
There is an area of repair in the middle of the lower end border which measures approx. 15cm. in diameter. This is hard to detect from the face of the carpet and is behind the material tape that has been stitched to the reverse for support. The selvages have been partially rebound. The ends are mostly original with a few minute cobbled repairs which measure less than 1cm. each. Overall this carpet is in fair to good condition.
