The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Overall in good decorative order with some typical minor flakes to glaze here and there on rims.
The tureen has a glaze starcrack to the centre of the base on the interior (this is in the glaze only and does not go through to the underside). There are two hairline cracks to the upper rim, running dowwards towards the base, one is 6 cm long and the other is 5.5 cm long and both are only visible on the interior. There is an area of restoration with overpainting to the narrow joint end of the leg, probably to disguise some glaze flaking or a small chip. There is a further area of minor overpainting to the exterior on the side of the body of the tureen, probably to disguise a crack or some glaze flaking (well executed).
The cover broken into two or three pieces and restuck with associated restoration and overpainting to some of the leaves and small sections of the branch on the top of the cover and some overpainting to the manganese ground. Associated white lacquer spray to the majority of the underside of the cover. Some minor losses to edges of some of the leaves. The acorn finial remains intact.
