Complete dimensions are as follows: Pair of urns supported on stepped and square plinths: 16 in. (40.6 cm.) high, 43⁄4 in. (12.1 cm.) wide, 43⁄4 in. (12.1 cm.) deep A singular alabaster urn with part-reeded body inset with blue-john fluting on a square plinth: 113⁄4 in. (29.8 cm.) high, 4 in. (10.2 cm.) diameter (plinth) A pair of small blue john cylindrical columns on Ashford black marble plinths: 83⁄4 in. (22.2 cm.) high, 23⁄4 in. (7 cm.) diameter
Overall this assembled garniture exhibits beautiful figuring to the stones, is overall well-conserved, and ready to place. There is the typical surface scratches, nicks, nibbling to the edges of stones and plinths, natural inclusions and cracks to the stones, and some areas with old repairs, infill, and restorations to all as is commensurate with age and use. Both columns with infill just above the rounded plinth to the upper columnar section, this is from an old crack or possibly a break but is well-disguised. Both knops re-attached and repairs to the upper alabaster tips. Both of the blue john urns have old repaired breaks with subsequent infill to the socles, one which extends down to the foot. Thus one is more well-disguised than the other. The knops likely re-attached at some point and the tops of the urns with some marks and old restorations. The alabaster and blue john inset urn has old repairs to the foot and socle, with subsequent infill. HAs apparently been re-attached at some point. Some minor yellowing to square plinth and slight darker coloring to edge of top. All of this is visible in catalogue photos.
