Overall in sound, decorative condition and ready to place. The gilt and patinated bronze with rubbing, light surface scratching, tarnish and areas of verdigris, mostly to the gilt-bronze ring on the base. One sphinx with a broken off nose. The black marble with natural inclusions, with surface scuffs and scratches, and with some nicks and 'nibbles' to rims. The incised gilt decoration with some rubbing and losses.
