Each with some intrinsic imperfections, in the making, including scattered popped bubbles, small areas of overfiring and firing lines, mostly at the interiors. Each also with some scratches, wear and rubbing to the surfaces, consistent with age and handling, including loss to almost all of the gilt at the ring handles, and most of the gilt at the rims. Flaking to the enamels, mainly to the painted garments and trees. One vase with large repair around its neck, the overpaint somewhat yellowed. The other vase with a repair encircling its foot, a related tan residue over the repair and with an associated crack extending up the side of the vase approx. 6 in.; this vase leans to one side this slumping in the making likely caused the stress crack that encircles the foot. The covers each with restoration to their rims and the lion finials.
