J. A. Henckels, of Solingen near Dusseldorf are renowned for their innovative and ingenious pieces designed from the late 19th century onwards, which comprised many different types of travelling and picnic sets, cocktails shakers and smoking companion.

Stamp clear. Some scratching and small nicks. Some loss of plating on high points and ridges. Cigar cutter not working with push-up thumbpiece now lacking and replaced by a screw. Solder repair to the junction of the wheels to the detachable base; one of the band holding the wheels refixed to the fusillage with some repair scratching. Small pin dents to one of the cigarette case.
