The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

In addition to the catalogue entry:
- the full sheet, with some small paper losses at the sheet corners
- some grease(?) stains along the right sheet edge and lower right corner, slightly affecting the insignia
- some flattened creases in the margins and through the insignia (visible in a raking light)
- a soft handling crease in the head (only visible in a raking light)
- some tiny and unobtrusive stains in places
- some minor paper skinning in the margins
- on the reverse, some residue from blu-tack and other stains, minor surface skinning in places
- hinged at places along the sheet edges on the reverse
