The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
Coloured chalk and oil on paper. Examined within the frame behind glass. The sheet is float mounted, and is secured to a supporting non-acidic board in several places along the reverse sheet edges. The edges of the sheet are uneven, consistent with the artist’s process. There are artist’s pinholes at the upper edge and one in the lower right corner. There is a horizontal crease across the lower quadrant of the sheet, this appears to be contemporary to the time of execution. On close inspection, there are some further minor creases in the lower corners. There is a loss to the upper edge, which appears to have been present at the time of execution and is visible in the illustration. There is some minor surface dirt. Subject to the above, this work appears to be in very good overall condition.
