Lot Essay

Taken from the relatively newly-incorporated Bristol suburb of Clifton, this watercolur offers a dramatic view of the Avon Gorge from the edge of the city. The cliff known as 'Sea Walls' is on the right, and in the distance is the Gothick tower of the 17th Century Cook's Folly.
