We are grateful to Simon Parkes Art Conservation, Inc. for the following condition report (written communication, 24 September 2019):
This work has been restored. The varnish is very glossy. Under ultraviolet light, one can see fine restorations in the nose, forehead, cheek and neck of the woman wearing the white hat. In addition, there is restoration in her black coat above the bunch of flowers. The woman standing on the right of the picture has significant fine retouching in her face, and there are also retouches in the face of the woman with the pink parasol. There are retouches in the pink parasol itself. There are isolated retouches in the awning in the upper center, in the red cloth in the upper right, and in the brown dress of the woman selling the flowers in the lower left. The varnish beneath these retouches is very opaque, and there are other retouches beneath this varnish that would become apparent if the work is cleaned. The work suffered abrasion as a result of poor cleaning at some point.
