The canvas has been glue relined and there is minor surface dirt. There is some scuffing and losses to the extreme edges of the canvas caused by frame abrasion. There is minor craquelure developed in the sky and background. To the right of the signature is a small area of abrasion. There are a few lines of paint separation above the right cow's horns. Under UV light inspection, there are areas of retouching at the extreme edges, a half inch line in the upper windmill arm, a small area about six inches from the top on the left edge. There are also three small areas in the standing cow reenforcing her right flank. There is some feathered retouching in the sky at right. The varnish has been unevenly cleaned in the darker pigments. There is retouching over the aforementioned abrasion near the signature.
