The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The surface is stable and there is surface dirt present. The canvas has an old glue reline. There is an even layer of varnish. Under UV light inspection selective cleaning of the varnish makes it difficult to read retouching. There are possible small areas of retouching in the trees and ground. There is a small area of retouching in the upper left quadrant and two in the upper right quadrant. There is a spot of retouching to the right of the figure. There are two small areas of retouching to address paint separation in the lower right quadrant. There is retouching at the extreme edges.
