The canvas is lined. The varnish is discolored and there are scattered visible retouches throughout the sky, foreground, and horse. There is frame abrasion to all edges. There is flaking with associated losses along the lower edge. There is a small loss on the flank of the horse. There is an indent in the upper right quadrant. There are a few small losses on and near the horses front legs. Upon inspection under UV light, there is inpainting and repaired tears throughout.
