Meal Time

The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The surface is stable. The canvas has been wax relined. There is an even layer of varnish. Under UV light inspection there are minor retouches at the extreme edges. There are a few small spots of retouching in the upper right corner and around the white post, in the chicks at left and front. There is a small area of retouching in the ground behind the animals at center. There are a few small retouches in the central animals. There is inpainting in the lower left corner that is directly adjacent the 'W', 'H', and the date. In the lower right corner there is a 4 x 2 inch area of retouching possibly for an associated tear and other areas of retouching.
