In Russian. Five pages, 295 x 192mm, gathered by thread at upper left corner, a few emendations in black ink, further cancellations and emendations made to top copy and reproduced in carbon, annotations by the printers at upper margin of p.1.

‘The scatterbrain cashier’. A comic story about a cashier, who marries a woman who turns out to be a criminal, loses his job, becomes an alcoholic, dries out and marries a second time (after due caution), only to discover that she too is an alcoholic, causing him to relapse and lose his job again. The moral of the story, Zoshchenko concludes, is that it is wise to take time to get to know a future spouse. The story is apparently unpublished.
