Provenance
Veteran collector, Mr. Yeh Chie Chung (1948-2008) started his collecting journey in the 1970s and built an impressive collection of Chinese classical and modern paintings. He immersed himself in various fields of research, with a specialty in calligraphy. Important works from Mr. Yeh’s collection have been on loan to the National Museum of History in Taipei and the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (formerly known as Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung). A man of bold and generous character, Mr. Yeh was one of the founding members of the Ching Wan Society in Taipei, one of the world’s most renowned associations of Chinese collectors. His friends held him in high esteem.
Seventeen lots of Chinese modern paintings will be offered in our Fine Chinese Modern Paintings (Lots 1201-1217) on 26 November 2018, and twenty-six lots (Lots 901 – 926) of classical works will be offered in our Fine Chinese Classical Paintings and Calligraphy sale on 27 November 2018.
