The canvas has been subject to relining, it is held under tension and remains stable. Exaination in natural light shows a fine pattern of craquelure across the surface. Examination under UV light reveals some retouching to the craquelure. There has been some restoration to the upper portion of the cartouche. There is some further scattered retouching, and some retouching to the whites. The paint remains stable and the detail of execution fully appreciable.
