Support:
The canvas has a fairly recent re-lining and new stretcher, thus maintains a good tension and remains structurally stable.

Varnish:
The varnish, while relatively clear in the lightest passages appears dark, discoloured and lacking saturation in the foliage and landscape. Only minor scattered restoration is visible.

Paint layer:
The paint layer appears to be in a good condition with drawing, modeling and detail well preserved.

Ultra-violet fluorescence examination:
Confirms the uneven nature of the varnish layer and minor scattered restoration.

Frame:
In a carved and gilded frame, in a good condition.
