EINSTEIN, Albert (1879-1955). Letter signed ("A. Einstein") to David Jaffe, Princeton, 17 August 1943.

In English, one page 278 x 215mm (minor show-through from ink spot on verso, small rust mark at top margin).

Einstein to an inventor. Einstein thanks Jaffee for his letter and for the gift of stamps, but advises him that a visit to Princeton would be "a real waste of time for you to show me your 2 inventions in the military field. I have of course no information about things already known to the authorized specialists … and I am not able to see, if your propositions are superior to those already known." But ever the gracious host, he ads that if Jaffe were "coming anyhow near to Princeton you can of course see me but it would probably be a waste of time."
