FROST, Robert (1874-1963). A Boy’s Will. New York: Henry Holt & Company, 1915.

First American edition of Frost's first published book of poems, inscribed and signed by him with a poem: “With the lyrical I should like to have for lyrical. Robert Frost,” and facing page 11 is the poem “Fragmentary Blue,” also in his hand. The manuscript version is largely the same as the published version, with just a couple slight differences in words – e.g., the first line in manuscript reads “Why cares so much for fragmentary blue” and the published version reads “”Why make so much of fragmentary blue.” This copy of A Boy's Will is the first edition with “aind” on page 14. It was first published by David Nutt in London in 1913.

Octavo. Half title. Original blue linen cloth stamped in gilt (a little toned at edges). Unprinted slipcase.
