The scarce first edition. Snelling was an American adventurer and writer, the son of Colonel Josiah Snelling. His short stories included early accounts of Native Americans on the Plains. Sabin 85426.

Octavo (211 x 120mm). Engraved title, printed title, map, and 8 plates (a little toning throughout). Modern quarter morocco over marbled boards (minor rubbing).
