Important and massive pictorial history of the French Revolution; the most complete graphic record of events. The third volume frontispiece depicts the Rights of Man after Fragonard.

Three volumes, folio (472 x 320mm.). Without half titles. Three engraved frontispieces, 153 engraved views, and 66 engraved portraits; mostly by Dupless-Bertaux. (Very occasional spotting.) Later half calf (scuffed, corners showing). Provenance: T.F.C. Mainwaring (armorial bookplate).
