Taylor's, Vintage Port 1948
English bottled by Hatch, Manfield and Co. New Christie's Raby Castle labels based on archival material from Taylor Fladgate. Slightly damaged wax capsules. One bottle with remains of wax capsule only. Levels: into-neck

Tasting note: This legendary vintage Port fully lived up to it’s reputation. All deep dark fruits with a great structure, packed in and still reserved. Strength and superb length of taste, only after two hours starting to shed off it’s initial understated appearance. Long lingering taste with a wonderful freshness and balance. Already a joy to drink, after being decanted well in advance, though this Taylor’s 1948 will easily live on and continue to bring pleasure for many years. Perfection. 100p. April 2024. EV.
