The sheet is hinged at the upper corners to the backing board and undulates slightly. The sheet has slightly shifted in tone, consistent with age. A few small spots of discoloration are visible occasionally to the edges, most notably to the upper right edge. Several small creases are occasionally to the edges, and one is to the lower left corner. Two small spots of rubbing are to the upper left edge, presumably vestiges of the artist's working method. A small spot of wear with an associated crease is above center. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
