拍品的状况可能存在极大差异，而由于其性质使然，拍品难以处于完美无瑕的状态。拍品均以拍卖时的状况出售。

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is a hairline accretion to the upper horizontal edge and a few pinpoint accretions in places, most notably to the figure's hair. There are minor impressions along the extreme edges with a few associated paint losses in places, presumably a result of previous framing and only visible out of frame. There are two pinpoint paint losses to extreme lower corners and to the blue passage in the figure's hair. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
