拍品的状况可能存在极大差异，而由于其性质使然，拍品难以处于完美无瑕的状态。拍品均以拍卖时的状况出售。

The canvas, stretcher and attachments appear to be in generally good condition. There is minor rubbing to the extreme edges, most notably to the lower horizontal edge. There are a few pinpoint accretions to the lower half and a hairline accretion below the figure’s eye. There are minor tension cracks to the extreme turnover edges. There is a minor abrasion with an associated pinpoint paint loss to the blue passage below the figure's lips. When examined under ultraviolet light there appears to be no evidence of any retouching. Subject to the foregoing, it is our view that the work appears to be in generally good condition.
