The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The left and right sheets are hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and periodically along the edges and undulates slightly. The center sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and undulates slightly. The edges of the sheets are slightly deckled. On the left sheet, two tiny losses are to the lower left extreme edge in blacked painted passages and another is to the lower right edge in a magenta painted passage. A small area of discoloration is left of center near the neck of the figure of the left sheet. Minor wear is to the corner-tips and extreme edges, most notably to the lower right corner on the right sheet. On the right sheet, a faint crease is to the upper center edge and a few faint drip accretions are occasional. A tiny area of discoloration is to the lower left quadrant in a green painted passage of the right sheet, possibly in keeping with the artist's working method. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
