The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the upper corner-tips and undulates slightly. Artist's pinholes are to the upper corner-tips and minor wear, handling indents and shoe-prints, presumably artist, are to the corner-tips and edges. A tiny spot of skinning is to the lower left margin of the sheet. A tiny loss is to the figure's rightmost eyeball and another is to the lower left of the figure in a pink painted passage. Minor wear is to some of the impasto peaks. A fine linear abrasion and pinpoint accretion are right of center in a yellow painted passage. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
