Condition report
A Christie's specialist may contact you to discuss this lot or to notify you if the condition changes prior to the sale.
The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.
The painting is executed on a thin board that is mounted to canvas. The board undulates very slightly, and there are soft circular indents along the right edge, possibly inherent to the board or the mounting process. Minor wear is to the corners, and pinpoint nicks and spots of paint loss are infrequent to the turning edges, not visible when framed. Drying cracks are occasional to areas of orange impasto. Under close inspection and raking light, a few faint rubs are to the upper right quadrant in the green. Under ultraviolet light, tiny spots of inpainting are occasional to the edges and the lower left quadrant.
