The sheet is hinged to the backing board at the corner-tips and periodically along the edges and undulates slightly. The edges of the sheet are slightly deckled. Fine surface scratches are scattered, most notably to the lower register of the sheet and presumably in keeping with the artist's working method. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
