The work is structurally sound and a fine layer of surface dust is visible to the interior crevices. A fine linear abrasion is near the lower right and a few tiny indentations are near the center rear edge of the base. A pinpoint accretion is to the larger horse's nose. Rubbing and spots of oxidation are scattered throughout. There is no apparent inpainting visible under ultraviolet light.
