The condition of lots can vary widely and the nature of the lots sold means that they are unlikely to be in a perfect condition. Lots are sold in the condition they are in at the time of sale.

There is surface soiling and discoloration on the upper horizontal side edge and turning edge, in association with an accretion that runs vertically from the upper left to the lower left portion of the picture. There is minute hairline cracking in the upper right and lower right corners in association with the stretcher. Discoloration is visible at the turning edges and side edges in association with age. There are small linear areas of fluorescence visible under ultraviolet light, presumably in keeping with the artist's working method.
