Fourty years after the release of the original Nike Air Force 1, Virgil Abloh re-imagines the iconic silhouette, creating 47 bespoke editions with Louis Vuitton. Released posthumously, the collection encapsulates both Nike's rich history and Abloh's immeasurable impact on culture and design.
The shoes were made by Louis Vuitton in Italy’s Fiesso d’Artico, marking the first time the shoe was crafted outside of a Nike Factory. The Louis Vuitton x Air Force 1 collection was fashioned with unparalleled craftsmanship and expertise, emphasizing Louis Vuitton's acclaimed attention to detail and technique. Each pair was crafted with unique materials and textiles selected by Abloh and pulled from the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2022 menswear show titled “VIRGIL WAS HERE”.
The shoes include Virgil’s iconic quotation marks, as well as embossed detailing throughout the silhouette. The artistry brought into the collaboration between Louis Vuitton and Nike makes this collection one of the most exclusive, expertly crafted sneakers in history.
