As one of the most iconic figures of the 20th century, Marlene Dietrich brought glamour, sophistication, and unparalleled talent to the stage. Her concert featured a repertoire of classic songs, including her signature tunes such as 'Falling in Love Again' and 'Lili Marleen.'
During this time, Basil Bernard Rubin, a well-known South African impresario, brought several European artists to the stage and formed a close circle with Marlene Dietrich. She developed a close friendship with Rubin's wife, Aileen Rubin, and in appreciation of their support during her tours, Dietrich gifted Aileen a beautiful Chanel handbag with the original Chanel box, signed 'Marlene.'
