拍品专文

This set was started by Eisen and published by Hoeido in 1835, however in 1837 Hiroshige took over the project, working with the publisher Iseiri (Kinjudo).

Evening is closing in as a traveller on horseback arrives at the station of Karuizawa. Whilst he asks a passer-by for a light for his pipe, his servant bends over to light his own pipe in a fire beneath a cryptomeria tree, the fire illuminating one side of the tree.

For another impression in the collections of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, accession number 21.5170, go to www.mfa.org/collections and for another in the Arthur M. Sackler Museum, Harvard Art Museums, go to http://www.harvardartmuseums.org/art/209032
